Default Source for DC Fast Chargers

These charger charge 4x faster than the level 2 chargers most of us will have in our garages. They aren't a cheap date (cheapest was $8K+) and they pull a ton of current (175 AMP load for the two phase which suggests you need buddies at your power company). Still if you want a really fast charge... Here is the source I ran into: https://www.evchargesolutions.com/DC...ers-s/1821.htm

the few i looked at were either

3 phase 208 100 AMP breaker - that's currently the entire load for my house ! ( we are upgrading to 200 amp service so we can put in a the fastest level 2 possible )

3 phase 480 volt 40 AMP breaker - which i don't think any residence can provide.

would be sweet to charge the car in an hour though !

Yes I didn't catch that it was 3 phase (and you are right), the one they recommended was a two phase 175 AMP breaker which would pretty much blow my panel off the wall. I looked at increasing service but the power company wanted me to buy a new transformer for the neighborhood. So this would be too rich for my blood.

you will not find 3 phase in a residential home. 3 phase 208 volts is typically commercial/industrial

i am trying to upgrade to 200 amp service, and they have to trench through my neighbor's driveway under the fence, and through my side yard, sounds $$$, but not as bad as your situation.
