I love how these sound, they look great, give at least 10 hp, BUT...

These will NOT pass smog by any means.

I got an email from another board member who recently bought these and had the car fail smog badly, with no chance of passing HC at road speeds.

Just a word to the wise, these will fail CA smog 100% of the time.

I don't mind swapping the stock ones back on every 2 years so this is ok with me, but I thought everyone who is thinking about getting a set of these should know that we are talking zero chance of passing smog.

Did I mention these will not pass smog?

I used 2 sets of gaskets on the lower flanges, no more leaks.

I fired it up with open cats, sounded pretty healthy Meoooow!

You should hear how it is fully uncorked with a test pipe I need to get another video up of mine. It is probably a bit too loud.

On the wrap issue, I have had my Triumph 1050 triple heat-wrapped since 2010, and that engine / header PUMPS out some heat during my track days.

Re-wrapped this past weekend, simply to change the colour to titanium from DEI black - and no cracks in the pipes. I'm guessing the thermal load upon these thinwall headers is a bit more extreme than on the XK headers, and at the least there is probably a lot more 'cycling' up and down.

I have to pull my 2000 XK8 engine soon, and I was going to wrap back - unless you esteemed ladies & gents feel otherwise.
