Default Difference between AJ16 and AJ16 supercharged

Could someone please share knowledge on AJ16 engines? Can one bolt a supercharger from an AJ16 supercharing engine to a normal AJ16? I am considering buying a late-model XJS with a 4.0L AJ16 engine, but I would love to have the extra punch of a supercharger. One could swap an AJ16 supercharged from a XJR but could one just swap in the supercharger?

By the way, did both engine came with same 4 speed GM tranny or different?

The short answer is NO. The block doesn't have the holes needed for the supercharger machined. There are quite a few differences. This question has already been answered in the X300 forum.

And the transmissions are different. Only the SC and the V12 have the GM unit, the normal 4.0 has a ZF 4 speed which wasn't considered strong enough for the extra torque.

Good luck and search the X300 forum as that is were all the info you need is
