Default G-force high performance chip

Hello -

Since the leaf blower idea did not work out... I found another website with this performance chip. Has anyone ever used this kind of chip? if so what type of gains did you get? Looking for peoples feed back.

Here is the link - http://www.gfchips.com/

Thanks.

I looked at their site. They give out very little information; too little in fact.

They say that in 20 minutes with just a pair of pliers you can up the the mileage, power, save the whales, stop global whatever.

You can't get into the ECU with a pair of pliers. Usually these devices plug into something like your Intake Air Temperature Sensor or some other sensor and change what the ECU gets in the way of data. They just fool it. This can work, but it isn't the same as changing the "Maps" in the Eprom in the ECU.

Thanks for the info Glendoramike for the small price would you get it? especially if your guranteed your money back if you dont like it.

I know these cars are not made for speed unless you do a lot of heavy modding. I am just looking for something to get a little better performance and better gas mileage. If you do not recommend this do you know of anything else that would work?

Ok. rgbinny. I see your located in India. Do you have a website on what you sell? You say your product is better how so?

I am not looking to make my jag a race car. I am looking to get better performance and raise the MPG a bit. I know there is not much we can do to these cars, just looking for something to wake the engine up a little. Please give me more details on the chip you offer how much? website? andho long does it take to get to the US from India?

It connects to the IAT, so it looks like all it is doing is tricking the computer in to thinking it needs an adjustment? more or less fuel!

Tricking a very sensitive sensor like the MAF is not the smartest one can do. The ECU will also learn from the inputs and try to correct anomalies. The only way to get around that would be to have a device that knows what sort of airflow you have in your car, and then only adjust the airflow values to the ECU when you are outside the closed loop boundaries. Then you could fool the ECU easily, and force the mixture to become leaner. Making the mixture leaner will also take away your insurance against engine troubles.

Let’s put it this way, it is definitely one of the cheapest ways to put your engine at serious risk.

Do not falled into the scam of these products. It is basically your local run of the mill radioshack resistor connect to the IAT sensor tricking the computer thinking the intake air temperature is lower than what it actually is. However with the more and more complicated ECM unit cars nowaday have it will sometime destroying the ECM unit.
