Hotfire engine
A random, but interesting, article on the new 4-cyl "Hotfire" engine plant being built in England. It seems Tata is moving away from the Ford dependency more and more. Does this spell the beginning of the end of the AJ-V8 Gen III era? I see the f-type already comes in a V-6.

well the problem is, V8's are not passing the strict emissions law while being approved for U.S Sales.
not just jags but all car makers are going V6 for a reason and V6 with Supercharged or Turbo charged.
the new M3 from v8 they had to change it to v6 Turbo, M5 had to be gutted down on their V8 from original design of the V10 5.0ltr.
Mercedes also changing their motors around from 6.3 to 5.5 I believe.
The F-type I believe went with a V6 because of Weight ratio as well, too heavy in front and no weight in back causes problems.
Just a theory of mine, I havnt read into the F-Types.. But I get that idea because that's what BMW had to do with their E9X M3's.. the V8 motor was too heavy for the weight distribution of the light car, they had to add a lot of weight in the back of the Car to balance it out.
Reasons for strict required laws ? I am not sure, to **** off consumers ? lol
at this rate they should become strict on electric cars as well to make it fair, restrict them from too much voltage, I mean the tesla and fiskers are running nuclear bombs.

Yeah, I guess so. I just read the Porsche Panamera dropped from a V8 to a V6 twin turbo. While that would definitely haul, I don't look forward to the day the Jag is known for the whiny, high pitched mosquito-fart of a Toyota drifter. But I understand they, as a company, have to stay relevant.

i wonder if the Hotfire engine is related(in its technology) to the Yunick hot vapor engine patented in USA , in the late 1970s.
i personally drove some of the prototype vehicles, we had ancient tech, Olds V6s getting 30-34 mpg regular fuel, and the 2.5L 4cyl getting hi 40smpg US gallons, power was great considering that era of automotive developments.
Yunick has passed , and his workers who knew the the tech behind Hot Vapor engines have gone also.
but like anything, if R&D and time, the principles can be exploited and say they did it.
and truth be told; Yunick got the 1st idea from another real old timer, who sold his patents to an oil company, and never to be heard from again!! imagine that!
