Limited slip differential REVISITED
So you are saying since my S-Type is 2003 the 06-07 XK differentials are the same. so all I need is a LSD for a 06-07 XK and everything is good?
Jaguar changed the rear differential for the S-type starting with the 2003 models. So you should be able to swap in the differential. I was looking into doing this about a month ago & I have the part #s and stuff for this somewhere. When I find it, I'll post it up.
I spoke with Tom from TL Jaguar in the UK if he would like to investigate (he also sells the quaife diffs for the aly body), the only thing he would need is a second hand unit from the Stype. Maybe if there are enough people interested he will start the investigation.
Just PM me or contact Tom directly.

Here is what I was able to find so far....
The following article is a copy of the original web page created by Mark Knight documenting his Dana 44 ring and pinion install in a Jaguar Salisbury differential.
Here's a list of parts:
Bearings and Races
Carrier Bearings: 25590
Carrier Races: 25523
Pinion Bearing Inner: 31594
Pinion Bearing Inner Race: 31520
Pinion Bearing Outer: M88040
Pinion Bearing Outer Race: M88010
I have used 2 different Auburn Gear Carriers. I currently have the 5420111 Hi-Performance for Dana 44 3.92 up, 19 spline.
The input seal is a CR 15788

What you need is an XJR 6 diff & front mounting plate & it is a straight drop in. You will need to modify the exhaust mounts for the overaxle pipes. The Mercedes trans is fitted to supercharged cars from 1998-2002. If your car is not supercharged you don't need to program the TCM. You can fit 3.07 3.27 3.58 3.77 or 4.09 ratios.
This might be interesting to XF, XJ, XK owners
