Not the prettiest, but a very functional 3.5" intake. This is how I wanted the air to transition into the Maxbored 82.5mm TB.

When the hood closes it deforms the 3.5" silicon 90 degree elbow just a tiny bit, the hood still closes without any resistance.

I think the stock cobra head bend/turn into the TB is one of the bottlenecks in the stock air intake system, I think this is about as good as it is going to get with the stock TB.

I used silicon "rescue tape" wrapped around the TB until the diameter was large enough for a perfect seal when I slipped the 90 degree silicon 3.5" elbow down on to it. It fits so well I don't really need the clamp, but it would be crazy not to have clamped it.

Given the air is being sucked in and not blown in, the larger elbow is still an advantage.

If you are running high boost I would suggest adding one additional hose clamp in the middle to add support to keep this from collapsing under vacuum.

Me likies

Also see the photo of where I added a 2" ram air line into the front of the airbox that is fed from the passenger side fog light hole. I felt a difference with this mod, even at slow speeds, so I think the stock snorkel is a little bit restrictive.

That is pretty massive. I am assuming you don't have any flow issues with that size

Nope !

No flow issues with my relatively mild mods running approx 12 psi boost. This "WAS" the bottleneck of the system.

92mm MAF to be installed this weekend

It is generally accepted that you can't go to big before the TB as long as your MAF reads correctly.

It is big, and black, but it never gets too hard, stays a little pliable and squishy, so I can make it fit...

Can I write that here?
