Default Where would I find a set of head studs for my 2002 XJR

I've found a set of heads I'm going to swap onto my 2002 XJR.

Does anyone know where I would find a set of head studs to upgrade/replace the bolts with??

The XJR takes 20 cylinder head bolts but sit down before you read the cost.

I've found the details on British Parts UK website:

Where would I find a set of head studs for my 2002 XJR-cylinder-head.jpg

They have a US based distribution centre in Houston at:

Contact Us :: British Parts International

Worth entering the part number in your search engine to check for other suppliers.

Thank you for the link,

Those are stock replacement bolts, I'll use those if I can't find studs, but I'm hoping I can upgrade to studs. I'll call ARP monday and see what they have to say.

If you go with the stock head bolts it is cheaper to go to a Land Rover dealer, same part just a lot cheaper. I think if you use studs you may have to drop the engne out as clearance is an issue. What are going to use for head gaskets? When I was doing my engine Jason @ Nameless told me he had Cometic gaskets that he just wanted to get rid of.

Wow, I didn't think of having to drop the engine. I would rather avoid that. I was thinking studs would be stronger, which could be an advantage if I ever wanted to add some giggle gas in the future. If it does require dropping the motor, I'll take the easier route and just get the replacement bolts as I am not going to exceed 15-16 psi boost.

Thank you for the buying at land rover advice. Is it the same part number? AJ89986? The $7.69 each as listed above seems doable, do you think they could be had for less at a rover dealer?

I was thinking about it. The muppets tell me that arp studs generally do not require to be torqued to any specific requirement before putting the nut on, so I can drop them in with the head, and then thread them with the head in place, this way I can avoid needing to slide the head over the studs, thereby eliminating the problem of clearance requiring the block to be moved....yes??

Maybe Eurotoys is selling same studs, but they have " a little bit " better sales margin...

I just sent the question and got a response from S.A. Animal. Apparently he cannot get them for $4.88 each, he had some credit with a place and these were $4.88 more than some other set of studs he had credit for, so he paid the difference and was passing them on to me as a trade for something I had done for him.

I thought that was ridiculously cheap, but wasn't going to argue.

So I'm just lucky to get the benefit of that one time deal it seems. So, sorry, false alarm...
