Default XJ6 exhaust manifold difference?

I have a late series 2 XJ6 (1979 and need to replace the rear exhaust manifold. Is there any difference between the series 1,2 and 3 manifolds? Will they all fit? What’s the reason for the “sump plug” lookalike that holds the heat shield in place?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum Stewartbu,

The P/N's in the Parts Catalogues suggest not but according to several sellers of used parts, they will physically fit. The obvious main differences are holes (or lack of them) for the heat shield and similarly with holes for air injection models.
