Ok guys, some members seem to have issues embedding Youtube videos in their posts.

There may be several different ways to do this and I think it'd be a good idea if you can post how you do it here, for all to see.

Here's how I do it.....

On Youtube click on the video you want to embed
Open up the video
Once the video is open, right click in the body
select "copy video URL"
In the body of your JF post, right click
select paste
The video will appear a s alink in your preview but as an embedded video in your post

It is probably useful to mention that Youtube provides a dedicated imbed code.
Pasting that code into a post will NOT work.

I tend to just swipe over the URL in the address bar.

CTRL + C, back to my post and in the body, CTRL + V.

Done.

 

Good to remember that for anything that includes putting videos, pictures, etc in a post. post preview is your friend.
It will allow you to see exactly what will show up before you actually post anything.

Very true, I wonder what use it is then?

 

Kinda like a copy url from photobucket and the like. It has capital [IMG] beginning and ending [IMG] when in reality it should be lower case [img] and ending [img].

Note: nothing to do with youtube.

 

It does work on other forums, not here though, Jaguar forums have character to match the cars.
