Censorship Question
I noticed this a while ago but forgot to ask. Why is a very common rhyme of "dealership" censored by a swear filter here? I say "very common" because it's almost a standard replacement on pretty much every other car forum in existence, for obvious reasons.
I don't have a huge problem with it, it just seems a particularly obsequious choice, especially as (far as I can tell) this forum isn't affiliated with any dealers or "official".

Easy answer....
Quite a few of the members, in some cases those most prolific and willing to be helpful, and often who provide some very useful information, are or have been dealership employees. I'm sure you can put the pieces together from there.
Use of the word you're thinking of and/or excessive dealership bashing is a bit insulting to them. Avoiding that bit of insult is not being 'obsequious' IMHO.
Cheers

As Doug has said quite plainly in his post above, we have more than a few Techs on site who have helped to such a huge degree in the past, and continue to do so.
Their willingness to post fixes / how to's / tsb's and much much more has helped many members save thousands in repair bills.
As part of the dealership network, I'm sure you can imagine the tensions and strains that this causes?
Dealerships can and do mess up, fail to meet expectations, can sometimes charge excessively for certain parts or services ( bearing in mind they have large overheads to say the least ) but not all are created equal, so no tarring all with the same brush here.
Thanks
Jim
