When I became a member of the forum I just used my Facebook login. I would like to convert to a regular forum login. Can I do that? Can one of the mods do it for me?

Calling all moderators: Is it really not possible to convert my Facebook login to the standard login for this vBulletin system? I am not able to log in on my iPhone with the Facebook login (at least I don't see it as an option). I would also like to have a dedicated board login now that I actually have a Jag. When I initially signed up I was just interested and saw the Facebook-linked login as an easy way to quickly be able to post.

 

I don't do FB, but in a browser, use this address in the address bar.

In the top right corner you will see the login boxes.

Enter your user name and password.

And click Log in, in the box just to the right of the password box.

If that does not work, let us know.

 

The problem is that the view of the forum I get on my iPhone (not talking about PC) only has the main forum login fields and does not show the Facebook login option. I am not logging into the forum from Facebook, I am logging in with my Facebook user name and password by clicking the link under the text "Sign in using an external account" to the left of the regular forum login fields (which are labeled "User Name" and "Password"). The "Sign in using an external account" does not display when I view the forum on my iPhone. It displays a simplified mobile format of the forum website.

So, if I could just get some standard forum login credentials to use instead of using my Facebook login credentials, I could log in using my iPhone. I also would like to cut my reliance on Facebook to participate in the forum.

Well you already have a username (Tee-eye), but I suppose it's possible you never set up a password if you have always logged in with your Facebook credentials (??? I really don't know).

For instance: when I log in directly (NOT using Facebook button) my username is "muddydog" and no matter how I log in my forum password can be set/changed under the user CP. If you have trouble setting a new password, I would bet there's an "I forgot my password" link somewhere that will email you a temporary new one.

I log in routinely using both/either method, so they are not mutually exclusive. You don't have to "convert" from one to another.

First go to your UserCP while you are logged in and make sure your email address is set correctly. Then log out and try having your password "reset". That, along with your "tee-eye" username should get you in through the direct access fields, I would think.
