Default Members on deployment thread?

Ok, There's just been a post by one of our members, Reyesl, obviously in the service andabout to go off to some far flung, possibly dangerous place, as per post below....

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...members-67108/

My thoughts are this......What about creating a special thread, specifically for members in the forces who are deployed to some foreign land?
This would be a way of possibly keeping in touch, perhaps an exchange of messages from one member to another, a form of contact other than family etc that cares......

Just a thought.......

Please add comments and your thoughts as to whether this should be started or not, and any further ideas along this line.............

My vote +1, but let's see what the guys n gals have to say themselves.

We have serving and retired members in just about every forum section.

It can't be easy doing a busy, difficult and dangerous job whilst at the same time keeping in touch here.

I hear you Richard, but perhaps I didn't make myself clear......Its not so that they have to drop by, post etc.....Its just there, specifically for them, should they want to!

From the little I've seen or heard, as much as it can be dangerous and difficult, there can be long bouts of boredom....

I see it as a tribute thread where we can listen, be there for them, offer support in any way we can.

You already know that I agree with this, if they would like the 'space'.

We do have many serving members who perhaps only see people in their own forum section and may not realize that Fred round the corner is also a Jaguar enthusiast/owner.
