Default Sight Bowl - Threading Tape Required?

I'm finishing up the connection of my fuel lines. Just before the fuel goes into the engine, there is a sight bowl made of glass. I'm told that its function is for visual confirmation that there is gas in the lines and that the gasoline is clear and clean.

As the fuel line goes into this glass sight bowl, there is a threaded insert. Does this insert requires any type of thread tape?

I was always told to use plumber's tape when threading anything with water. Given that this line is gasoline, I don't know if plumber's tape is applicable or if there is another type of tape that should be used.

No plumbers tape is needed, but the threads have to be clean and lubricated with a bit of grease. Make sure there is a bit where the thread makes contact with the ferrule.
Do not over tighten this type of seal _ snug it up just enough until it doesn't leak.

I use Hylomar to seal banjo threads and other fuel system component connections.

just a little Hylomar is needed to do the job so you would think why bother, but it does seal incredibly well.

I'll have to try that Jose, it can be difficult sealing a compression fitting when it involves gasoline.
I've had problems in the past at times.

JeffR1,

apply it at the threaded fitting, so that only the last two-thirds of the thread has a very thin coat of Hylomar,

in other words, you do not want the Hylomar covering the beginning of the threaded area, not needed or desired.

great for sealing tank drain bolts, anything that deals with gasoline.
