Missing Jaguar
Hi. I am currently caring for one of the more elusive cats - a 1967 420. While Jaguar Forums is a great place to exchange information, a place is not specifically provided for the 420 in the Classic Car Forum section. As I'm sure you know, it is not a 420G, nor is it a XJ, a Mark or an S-type. How about giving it a listing in the Forum so that information exchanges about it are easier to find?
Thanks!

Hi John, I'm sorry but it's not really feasible I'm afraid.
It's not about bandwidth etc, more about the forum homepage and space required. There's already too much scrolling going on to view the complete forum homepage, we have to limit it somehow for the benefit of the majority at this time

Hi Jim,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I guess what I was asking for is the addition of the 420 to one of the drop-down sub menus under the Classics menu. Right now, there is no specific place for this model.

Don't feel too bad John "The management team" all except one supporter will not even list the early Jaguars that is from the Mark V back to the original SS Jaguars. How pathetic I thought this was a Jaguar Forum.

I'm not going into it again in great detail, suffice to say.....
some of the current but established models have 28k or 35k posts in 2k or 3.5k threads
The modern variants having been long established appeal to a much wider audience, with posts from 60k, 90k up to 120k and even 160k with 10k, 11k or even 12k thread within them.
Once we get into the classics it drops significantly posts drop with 300, 500 or 900 being the most common with only 100 or perhaps 200 threads at max. The exceptions are of course the XJS and XK40 with decent activity
So in answer to your question, we do not have the time or space to open up another several sections where there may be 4 or 5 posts / threads, it just doesn't make sense.
Hopefully common sense will prevail and you can see where we're coming from
