Greetings to Jim, or any site administrator who can be of assistance:

I would like to acquire authorization from Jaguar Forums to be the "boots on the ground" at U.S. SCCA Trans Am Series racing events. I anticipate that such authorization would enable me to obtain a Press Credential, and thereby greater access to the Jaguar team efforts and their personnel.

"Racing Reporter for Jaguar Forums.com" is a position that has yet to be established, but one I would gladly volunteer for. That's the kind of two-way street I like: the forum can receive exclusive reports from a member with enough specific knowledge and writing ability to enlighten interested readers...and I get through a few fences for a closer look at the Jaguar race cars and easier access to interview team engineers and drivers.

That's the spirit! Again, I am considering a detail that I have no proir knowledge of: what will constitute a sufficient "merit badge" to earn me a credential at the track. The only think I can think of would be a formal letter on JF letterhead, identifying me as a site representative in attendance for this purpose.

Any chance of that being drafted? I'll be glad to write it, if "the powers that be" are willing to approve and sign it.

This isn't like trying to get into an F1 paddock, so far as I know the Trans Am Series races are but a small blip on the motorsports radar screen. A little help with getting my foot in the door should be all it will take. Thanks!

The next race is this coming weekend in Virginia, and I'm toying with the idea of heading there. I have to clear the traffic out if my driveway first, so it might not be possible.

Let me know what you find out, I think it would be a worthwhile endeavor for all concerned.

Unsure even if it is a yes whether it would be likely to happen that quick though. I've already asked the question so its now a waiting game...
