Thanks Rick, I think its safe to say myself, the mod team, veteran members / senior members all feel the same way, mostly.
We all want to help the forum grow / improve from where it is now, even though it has come a long way in the last 5 years or so.

It's a real shame though, that some disgruntled baned members feel the need to bad mouth the site on other forums, and generally in bad taste.
The really funny part, is some of them have over 600 posts and been here a while saying, its too big, poor info and overly moderated!!

If thats the case, why stay so long and be so active??

Anyhow, sorry for my rant.....hopefully the issues will be resolved sooner rather than later

Thanks for the knowledge. I wasn't aware of all that stuff that happens to messege boards.
I cant believe people would bad mouth these forums and say they are too big and poor info. I would want my problem to be broadcast to more people with the same vehicle so I can get solutions to it. Also if they think its poor info they can just go and keep driving their broke Jag and then end up selling it cause they can't fix it and then we can get new members who see the info on how to fix it here, buy it, and stay here. LOL.

It's not just message boards.

Anything gaming related is fair game for example.

It's a whole industry with the two sides engaged in an arms race with big dollars at stake.

overly moderated!! Pah, I haven't edited, banned, or warned anyone since last time I logged on.

This very thread shows how much people care about the forum.

Group hug time guys.

Good to know what the problem is.

Sometimes it feels slow with IE9 , you can try Google Chrome or Opera .

Over the past 2 days, either 1 of 2 things happen:

1) I still have to refresh, the page does not load at all.

2) The Jaguar Forum header loads along with the top advertising banner and a little Internet Brands banner next to it, 2/3 seconds later the rest of the page loads. I believe Richard reported the IB at the bottom of the page prior.

I don't believe that IE is the cause, but I am no puter guru.

Maybe it's just developed the "Jag Flicker" like the various lights on our cars....

Thats exactly what it was doing to me when I first post about it. It then went away and has since returned so its doing it too me again. Also when I post it will just stall like I didnt hit submit then when I hit it again it will say I had a duplicate post and when I check it ended up posting but didnt do what it normally does by taking me back to the thread. Sometimes I'll open a thread and it will just sit like its loading then never loads. The IB sometimes for me will be at the top floating there whenever it doesnt load the whole page.

I hope Sony isn't involved.

It is often one or more of the off site components that are included on a page. Examples are the links to images on ad servers, facebook, twitter, hit counters, etc.

If any of them stall, the whole page stalls.

There is also an abundance of crappy javascript floating around "written" by "software engineers" whose supreme talent is knowing how to copy and paste as long as they don't have to actually use keyboard commands.

Hi guys
Unfortunately, it's a continuation of the DDOS attacks of last week. We're doing all we can, and almost all of our sites are affected. I wish I had better news for you

Please rest assured that we're doing all we can to resolve this as quickly as possible!

Except for a couple of days, it has not been noticable here.

For the people having trouble, are your other connections to other sites fast?

Thanks Rick, I hear you on this.
I tried myself to log on late last night and was hoping to get some Admin work completed, welcome some new members, upgrade them to FFA etc etc........No joy!

The connection was terrible and it wasn't my end as other sites loaded super fast.
Hope to get to the end of it soon though and resume normal service

I find that when it stalls, it is trying to load ads from "doubleclick.net". When it stalls look in the bottom left corner and see what is stalling it out. Doubleclick is a spyware that loads on your computer and tracks your views and then looks for ads to post on your browser. I find local ads from Atlanta popping up on the forums webpages all the time. Your antivirus will delete it when it scans, but it will work its way back to your computer.

p.s. - I have been looking at a lot of sites recently on tires, rotors and pads. Most of the ads on the page as I type this are on tires and brake parts.

For the record, I have had absolutely no problems with JaguarForums.com. Not now, not last week, not since I got my computer back ealier this year.

Lew, that's also a result of cookies. Your browser and your search engine either sell your interests to advertising companies or they monitor your use and tailor advertising to your interests. To be honest, I would much rather have tailor made advertising for thing like Jaguars and other car things and ***** enlargment than yeast infection medication/prevention and the latest super tampon like I quite often get when I use a proxy to browse.
