I'd "thank you" for this, but I wouldn't want to use the button frivolously.

This is great, some of the other sites I frequent have "reputation" points which is similar to to the thanks feature. This is a nice addition.

I think there may well be more than a few of these thumbs up thank you's coming your way Brutal......just a shame we can't issue them retrospectively.

They really are a reasonably good indicator of who is helpful on the site in one way or another and who isn't so much.....great for the newbies especially!

Is there a (convenient) way to find out what you've been "thanked" for? It's sorta nice (and could be useful) to know which posts have been most helpful.

In some cases I've looked at my previous postings, backtracked through the thread, and have been able to discover where the "thanks" came in.... but that's a bit cumbersome, especially if the "thanks" is connected to a posting that's days or even weeks old.

Not a major thing, and certainly not a complaint. Just thought I'd ask :-)

Cheers
DD

Great question Doug, but there isn't as far as I'm aware.
Your scenario though certainly makes sense
