Default What's going on with my pm's?

I was going to pm a mod about this but couldn't. I was just in my pm's because I had received one, said I had zero room left so i deleted a bunch, now it still says zero, I only have 7 pm's in there, and it says none allowed. It wouldn't let me reply or create a pm either. When I came out here to make this thread, I tried to go back and got this message:

budsang1, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I'm not sure what's going on...

Here's the dealio, new software update.

In an effort to eliminate the PMs by spammers, all newly registered members have to have a post count of 5 (maybe 6) and be a member for 3 days prior to being allowed PM access.

Now, I am told that this will also apply to our regular members as a default, so reply to a few threads, wait 3 days, and everyone should be back to normal.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I'm happy the admins put this into place.

Hey guys, as stated....

We are looking at various ways to try and slow down / stop the spammers dead in their tracks. One way is re the pm messaging system and we've made various changes as stated above which, hopefully, means that they cannot send these pm's to you, or at the very least it means much much more work for them to do so.

I know it causes a little inconvenience to all, bit, in the long run, hopefully it will pay dividends.

Please bear with us on this.....

I thought you just wanted the default Whats Going On - threads/posts/members, birthdays, calendar - on this, not all the Top this stat and Top that stat. I dont really need that sort of widget, so Im not gonna be tackling this one, sorry.

Ah but JagPo, there is always a solution to PMS (Pre Moderated Spam).

It can become PMS (Post Moderated Spam).

But first one must be careful to go through the PMS (Probably Meaningless Spam) phase.

Before ultimately graduating to PMS (Permanently Moderated Spam).
