Default Mk 8 resto door card holes

Hello!
just trying to fit my new door cards in Mk 8. Relatively expensive fully finished items from UK to NZ with a heap of other stuff, like carpet, Moquette and vinyl. Very comprehensive kit.
anyway the holes in the cards are miles away from the holes in the doors. I have some green offset type metal clips which don’t seem to work. I was hoping the holes would all correspond. I made a clear plastic template of door holes and transferred to back of card and a couple holes coincide but general they are all way off.
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the fix is. Maybe I persevere with the off set green clips. But not easy to work with.
any suggestions be well considered thanks
By the way I got my ReRego and new WOF last month. What a trial that was. But she’s running ok and with a new ZF auto box and electric PS she will be a pretty nice old drive!

Yes, it can be a bit of a puzzle ! Main thing to be aware of is that where the door clip fits onto the door card, and where it slots onto the holes in the door frame are not necessarily in the same place. When I fitted door cards back onto my Mark 2, and then also my XJ 6 one has to joggle them around a bit . If yours are really way out then the supplier is at fault.
