MK V Restoration
Both projects look great. My MK V Jaguar stretch limo is now finished. XJ6 front & rear suspension & a Holden (Buick) 3.8 V6 & 4 speed auto. There is a MK 7 Jaguar in Western Australia that has been shortened plus made into a 2 door coupe, also with XJ6 suspension. I cant work out how to up load a photo of it or my car.

Keith you need to host the pictures on an external website; photobucket, flickr, or even facebook. Then you can show the pictures here by using the ime [img][/img] tags with the url/address of the pictures in between.
I havent even started on mine and probably wont until Spring. I can relate to issues at hand being the delay on projects. I built this back in Jan2012 and finally sold it last week. Now I can move on to the next project and when it is finished, then my old MK IX. This one isnt a Jag, its a 1962 VW beetle that I sectioned 6",shortened 12",narrowed 4" and channeled over a set of 2x3 fabbed rails. It was a fun car.
Nice designs , I believe your efforts making in this beauty will become fruity too
I had seen a project car MARK V in 2000 and very impressed with the quality of the work they had done
May be coincidence or not , that car also used Series III parts in restoration project

Unfortunately, all I have done is pull the body from the chassis. I have 3 important art exhibitions next year including my first solo museum showing, so I have been working like a mad man getting prepared. I hope to do some work in the next week or so, because I would actually like to include the Jag (even if unfinished) in the show as one of my "works in progress". Thanks for checking in. I hope to report more soon!
Hi my friends, it has been a long time since I have been here because of health issues and various little life disasters. But I'm back, not quite with what I left with... but I'm here. Unfortunately, I had to trade my entire MKV project because I had neither the resources, money or energy to complete it. This saddens me, as I think it would have been a spectacular build. HOWEVER, luckily I was able to trade that project for something I am a bit more capable of taking on. I now have a 1960's Daimler Majestic Major Limousine, which runs, has a fantastic interior, good chrome and really crappy paint! The nice thing is that pretty much all I have to do it paint her. Good to be back, but I kinda feel like I don't belong here anymore since this is a Daimler. BUT... Daimler was sold to Jaguar in 1959 and even though it was the last Daimler to be designed, built by Daimler employees in the Daimler factory (before Jaguar moved in), it does actually fall into a nether region of Jag? Or Jag not! hehehe. This is what she looks like right now. And in another post, I will show you one of my famous PhotoShop visions of what she will look like when done! Hope you have all been well... the guy named Craig
Welcome back craig. The Daimler is most definitely part of the jaguar stable. In jaguar world couple of months ago was a pick of sir william with the entire jaguar model range about 1962 and in it was daimler majestics and conquests also daimler buses. The pic was available to buy from jag heritage. So endorsement from the man himself. That colour combo is perfection. The lighter green you are going for is most likely willow green. That two tone combination of brg and willow was a factory option on mk10 and 420g's. Check out my willow green 420g and the 420g restoration on here that has the exact two tone combination. Again welcome back old chap.
Hi Craig, shame about your MK V but the Daimler will look nice.
Here is my web site to see my MK V Jaguar stretch limousine. It runs XJ6 front & rear suspension & has a Holden (Buick) V6 3.8 Ecotec engine & 4 speed auto. I live in Western Australia.

An interesting project, Cybersib. I am going in the totally opposite direction, restoring a Mark V chassis number 627933 to exact factory specification. I imagine it won't matter to you now, but the Mark V was originally a 12 volt positive ground system.
We like to keep a record of every surviving Mark V regardless of condition, so can you give me the chassis number of your car?

Any chance you could start a new thread showing how the conversion was done on your stretched MK V? Would be very interesting to see how the XJ6 suspension was incorporated to the chassis.
Thanks.
