Default Mk9 wish list

Is it possible to put an MK9 body on a modern chassis to get the beauty of the MK9 and the safety and reliability of a modern car? What possible modern cars would work? Thanks, Jeff

Modern cars have no chassis, they are of "monocoque" construction, so the body mounts all the suspension parts, (albeit subframes are usually used). The engine and transmission is similar. Of course there is nothing to stop you designing and building your own chassis.

No, no, no. You're thinking about this all wrong. You don't take a Mark IX body and strap it to a Tesla 3. You take a Mark IX, rip out the drivetrain, and casually slip in a Tesla 3 battery pack and drive train. Granted, it might be more of a project than a weekend thing, but it sure would be something. For a step-by-step instruction manual, check out SuperfastMatt's project of doing this exact thing (to a Mark V, but close enough):

He wound up fixing a lot of other problems too, like, you know, putting proper, modern suspension and brakes on it. Warning before you click the link: it's a long video series, and it's incredibly compelling to keep watching.
