Make Model Year
Jaguar XK 2007 - 2014
Description:

I installed this some time ago and have since installed a different head unit.  For those who don't already know, this is an alternative to you current XK Head Unit and controls aka Center Stack.  For those that know me on the forum, I created virtual gauges some years back and am always looking at changes.  While I wasn't the first to install this unit, I was an early adopter and compiled a thread on it.  Some pics I'm adding below are borrowed from that thread.
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...8/#post2353375

I added a polarized anti glare film to the unit which is included.
Note that the Burl Wood Surround is plastic and will not match your Burl Wood.  You will want to wrap it or paint it.  Piano Black appears to be the most popular.  The burl surround on my unit came from the factory with a cosmetic defect but it doesn't matter as stated above.  You will want to wrap it or paint it.

Install is plug and play for most every unit.  I'm told that if you don't have premium audio you must wire directly but there are at least two options and neither require cutting and OEM wires.

NO OEM WIRES ARE CUT and your car can easily be returned to its original OEM look.

Price is firm and includes delivery to the lower 48 States.  Shipping anywhere else will be additional.  I briefly reinstalled it and took a video so you can see it's working and restored to Factory Settings.  PM me if you want to see it.  I guarantee this is a fully functioning unit and can show it via video, but I offer no warranty.

PLEASE NOTE, some of the pics shown are using different various car launchers found on Google Play.  You can always stay with or return to the manufacturers screens.  These are just optional looks.

It has the following features.

Hi tmich, No not back on OEM and really not anxious to sell. Frankly I was going to keep this one and swap around as my mood dictates different looks and still might because I don't like selling at a loss. I've got requests out for my next set up.

I have the small 7" XF version in now with XK harness/ Can Bus, but won't be on my current setup long.

I saw yours when you posted pics of all your Mods and the Piano Black is absolutely terrific. Wrapping all my trim in Gloss Black will be my next mini project.

Consider ordering a spare black piano trim for a Tesla screen. I tried to organize one from my reseller with limited luck (asked around 100-150USD for this plastic part...).

I'm not a big fan of wrapping trims etc. Simply it does not look to good. Exterior is a different animal. But interior - which you touch etc. I would suggest not doing it.

In case you need any trim parts - have 3 sets in different colors Incl. Silver-black dedicated to the XKR.

Hi,

I i bought this a month ago for my x350. I was concerned with glare and damaging the screen and was looking for an antiglare film. Can you lead me to the film you purchased? Or even a better alternative? Thanks!

Factory pics with trim. The original pics I had were modifications to the home screen without trim or using a different car launcher (home screen) which I realize may be too busy for some/ most. This is the OEM look that it comes with.

I had a problem with phone bluetooth audio being noisy and weak. Removed the microphone from the side of the android unit and installed it in the moulded hole in the face panel with extension wires and an rca phono plug. Big improvement in transmit audio quality.

Do you have any pictures? I believe everyone is having this annoying problem. Would be very helpful.

Thanks

I made a short video but do not know how to load it. Pretty simple remove head and left side plastic mounting trim then remove two small Phillip screws holding circuit board on the side with the microphone and red and black wires.
unsolder the two wires connect an extension wire to existing wire on the head. Cut the board with scissors leaving the two solder pads to connect the extension to. Using a glue gun glue the mic to the existing hole in the trim panel. It fits perfect in the hole. Insulate the connections and test before reinstalling. I used shielded cable for the extension cutting up an old audio cable using the rca plugs so it can be unplugged. Now the mic faces you and your audio goes thru the small hole. Speak up when using it.

OK well that didn't go well. Had it sold locally. Guy came to see it, told me to mark it sold he was going to take it. Then he asked to see it installed - reasonable request, so I pulled my center stack and installed/ demoed it. He fiddled around for awhile and said he loved it. He then asked if I could install it for him. I said yes but he would have to remove the trim but I would lend him the tools and we could do this in the driveway and he'd be on his way in 30 minutes.

So I asked him for payment. Then he said all he had was $700. "So you want me to knock $200 off the $900 we agreed to hours earlier and install it for you?" sigh - back up for sale.
