Jaguar C-X16 Show Press Pack Book
For SaleMiscellaneous
Description:
The Jaguar C-X16 was a design concept first revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motorshow. It telegraphed what was to come in the production F-Type in two years' time, which was perhaps unique in how much of the show car was actually retained for the production F-Type coupe, with the exterior and interior mostly carried over in the latter. The C-X16 was powered by the soon-to-be familiar 3.0 litre supercharged V6 (380 hp, 332 lb-ft), supplemented by a unique “Push to Pass” hybrid electric system that added 90 hp and 173 lb-ft to the already robust V6 output. 0-62 mph was in 4.4 sec. To leaf through this book with the knowledge of where “future Jaguar” is headed is a bitter-sweet experience.
“C-X16, A Jaguar Design Concept” is a 36 page hardcover book (9-1/2” x 6-1/4”), with an attached Jaguar Media Information CD, that includes all the press photos and press pack text in multiple languages. The pages feature many glossy photos of the show car, with a full discussion of the car's technical features. The book was part of the Jaguar Press Pack for the Frankfurt Motorshow. The book is in very good condition, and is perfect for any F-Type enthusiast who wants to see the genesis of a milestone sportscar from Jaguar. Price includes shipping via USPS Media Mail.
The eBay seller is Coventry Foundation, a Jaguar charitable organization to whom I have contributed myself in the past. This may be a trivial sum, but better $ to them than to me.

But now I've seen that its spitting-image prototype role-model was a hardtop to begin with.
With modern-day advances in hybrid-EV battery technology, regen, etc., and the supposedly imminent debuts of smaller, lighter, dramatically more efficient solid-state batteries, it'd be great to see an ICE/EV C-X16 derivative re-emerge one day as Jaguar's next roadster. Perhaps when/if sustainable and plentiful efuels become a reality, JLR might modify its EV-only stance and let its cats roar again.
