Description:

2008 Jaguar XKR Coupe, Portfolio Edition

- 4.2 L supercharged V8 rated at 420 HP; ZF 6-spd automatic transmission
- 62,252 miles
- Celestial Black paint, Charcoal leather and spun aluminum interior, Alcon brakes (400mm front, 350mm rear rotors), 525-watt Bowers and Wilkins sound system.  A previous owner replaced the Portfolio spec 20” Cremona wheels with 20” Senta wheels.
- I purchased this XKR in July 2022 with 60,241 miles from a local Lexus dealership.  The dealership was not able to provide the previous maintenance history.  The selling dealership replaced the front Alcon brake rotors, the battery, and repaired the detached dashboard leather at purchase.
- Carfax reports this XKR was first sold in CA in November 2007 and has had three previous owners (in CA and TX).  Carfax shows no red flags.  The paint appears to be original with a few minor scratches and rock chips commensurate with its age and mileage.  The XKR is offered with two keys and a clean TX title.
- The following maintenance and repairs were performed after I purchased it:
            - Oil changes with Castrol Edge 5W-30 A3/B4
            - Spark plugs replaced
            - Engine air filters and cabin air filter replaced
            - Fuel filter replaced
            - Engine coolant, brake fluid, and rear differential fluid replaced
            - Transmission fluid, filter, and mechatronic seals replaced
            - All front/rear, upper/lower suspension control arms replaced
            - Rear tie rod ends, rear stabilizer end links, and front sway bar end links replaced
            - Rear brake rotors and parking brake pads replaced

The pictures show an expired inspection sticker from 2023. Is it an old picture or has car been parked for a while? How is the headliner? Any looseness or sagging? What is the condition of the tires and what are their date codes?

I am just north of Dallas and may want to come see the car.

The first picture was taken in September 2022. The other pictures were taken on Saturday. I included the older picture because it had much better lighting then the newer pictures. Newer pictures (with good lighting) are on my to do list. The car has current registration and is driven a few times per month.

The headliner has no looseness or sagging. There is a small area on the driver's door panel, where the leather seems like it might be a little loose.

The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. The date codes on the rear tires are 11/19. The front date codes are 31/18 and 50/18. I would say there is about 50% of the tread left on the set.

I would love to show you the car and could even meet you somewhere to cut down on your drive. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or would like pictures of any particular area.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the reply.

I am helping a friend move his metal fabrication business to East Texas for at least another week. I will reach back out if it hasn't sold by then.

I don't know what source banks or credit unions use for loan valuations. For what it's worth, a quick internet search provided the following NADA and KBB values:
Retail: $24,200 - $18,100
Private Party: $18,800 - $15,200
Trade In: $16,200 - $13,100

Banks and Credit Unions will probably go around $12k on this if they will loan at all on a car this age. Very unfortunate for those of us who want to sell.
I'm sick that this car wasn't available in January. I'd have bought it in heartbeat. Came out to Houston to look at one and returned empty handed. Found one in Indianapolis which I bought. My luck, this turns up after. Perfect companion for the 09 XJ Portfolio in Celestial Black.
Someone will take it. It's gorgeous.

Congratulations, @waldo
Perfect spec. I knew it would sell. Just sorry I bought too soon. I would love to have that.

Default Brushed aluminum trim

New member here looking for an XKR trying to figure out coupe vs convertible. Can you tell me if the aluminum trim was a factory option or was it after market? I have seen a couple similar. A very nice example the care shows! Thanks, Bob

The spun aluminum trim was one of two trim options available with the Portfolio package. The other Portfolio package trim option was American walnut.

I wish you the best of luck in your XKR search. They are great cars.

Default Aluminum trim

Thank you. I was hoping that was the case but yours was only the second I've seen so far. I did see similar on a 07 base but it did have a slightly different pattern. Did the member purchase your car as you mentioned?
