Default 100 MPH Armchair?

I'm told there was an advert for the S-Type in the 60's calling it the "100 MPH Armchair". Does anyone recall if that's a correct quote or even seen such an ad?

Not heard of that myself but I will ask David Rielly who has a vast library of S Type advert material.

That came from my late wife's memory. She grew up in London and was a major Jaguar enthusiast. Should have seen her face when I suggested we buy the Corvette over the 2+2. LOL We eventually got the same Corvette however

I have spoken to David Reilly who I would think has the largest collection of all things S Type including every piece of advertising material produced and he has said that he has never heard of this quote being used for the S Type but stated;I've never seen such an ad, although it would have made a very good one. The closest would be the Mk2 ads "10,000 miles at 106.58 mph achieved by a standard Jaguar 3.8 litre mark 2 saloon."

I'm sure Sir William would have insisted on 120 mph!
