I thought he was just referring to the choke escutcheon and how it worked in relation to the mechanism on the Stromberg carburetors, not that he actually had Stromberg's, in post 7 he ordered a new Otter Switch, and then earlier in post 3 he said it was retrofitted with a hand choke ???
Is the Otter Switch used with the Stromberg's at some point ?
In Mark's title he said it's a 1960 3.8 Mark II, since when were Stromberg's ever used on a 3.8 litre and why would someone retrofit those carbs on a 3.8 litre engine ?
I would like a photo of the carbs in the engine bay.
I don't know the answer. The message is confusing.
My understanding of what he means by manual choke operation is a cable mounted, direct pull out choke knob mounted next to the bonnet pull knob. The type of pull out choke commonly fitted to BMC etc. vehicles. No slider & escutcheon.
Underbonnet & in-car pics would help.
