Default 1965 Jaguar 3.8 S-Type

Two days ago, I purchased a 1965 Jaguar 3.8 S-Type. The former owner imported the Jag from the UK to the US in 1987. It has been in his garage for the past 27 years. He drove it only 1,800 miles. It has only 32K miles. It is a 4-speed with overdrive. It is also right hand drive. It fired right up.

Pictures to follow. The car is at my mechanic being totally checked out so I can get the title transferred.

Looking forward to restoring this beauty. It is in great shape for a 50-year old Jag.

Joe,
that is a rare green color. The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust can tell you where the car was first shipped to, or to whom it was sold to, and the original colors. Glad to see another S type saved, not many were made in its 4½ year production, when compared to all other Jaguar models.

Jose,
She is beautiful. Finally, just got the title transferred yesterday. Want to wait for my original title so I can attach it to my application to the Jaguar Heritage Trust. Looking forward to the results. No fuel leak. Have a carb overflow. Looking for the simple stuff: debris, float lever, etc.

do you have to attach a copy of your Title to get a JDHT Certificate? I didn't know that. I thought all they needed was the VIN.

actually I don't even like that idea. Your car's Title is a very private document, like Tax Returns. Like Arnold would say: "Bad idea".

Jose,
This is from their application: "I enclose a photocopy of the second page of the UK
registration certificate V5C (or a photocopy of an equivalent
non-UK document or certificate) as proof of the legal
existence of the car."

hmmmm, "proof of existence of the car". If you have a VIN, that should be sufficient proof in my humble opinion.

I guess it's just me, I would not supply anybody with a copy of my car Title.
