1965 Jaguar 3.8 S-Type Restoration
Removed, cleaned, dremeled, buffed, and polished the Inlet and Exhaust Camshaft Cover, Water Outlet Pipe, Breather Housing Front Cover, and Inlet Manifold. 50 years of crud removed and Miss Kitty has some of her bling back.

I went over to the shop today and picked up some of the chrome, old parts, and many bags of dirty nuts, bolts, washers, and brackets for cleaning. Miss Kitty has been put on the rotisserie. Wipers removed, front and rear windows came out without damage, and much of the chrome was removed. Progress is being made.

They did rebuild it, they just didn't polish it up ?
They should have replaced the main shaft sleeve bearing weather it needed it or not.
There should be no side to side play in it at the points end.

My carbs are 95% complete. Here are the before and after pictures. Rhys at Island Automotion LTD did the work.

Miss Kitty returned from media blasting today. Next is the primer and starting the body work. The media blasting did its job by showing all the dings and items that will need to be addressed. The underside is almost perfect. Very pleased with this result.

Getting ready to mail Miss Kitty's wood to be restored by Saul at British Autowood in Florida. Took some before pics. Hard to believe that all this wood goes into one Jaguar. [urlhttp://www.britishautowood.com/dashboard.html][/url]

I do not know, but you can contact Saul at British Autowood.
I did once a while ago and I got no answer, I suppose I could address "Saul" directly, but usually people don't like to give out this info, like some sort of trade secret _ and I can understand that.
The wood on a Jaguar is one of the key elements. I personally think that the woodwork should be ideally done by professionals rather than someone doing a DIY attempt. There is a lot of old school techniques in recreating the grain, color, repairing worn sections, etc.; it is not a simple stain and clear coat. All of the DIY pics to me look unprofessional and not up to the level of the professionals. Places like Madera Concepts, and British Autowood should be left to do the wood IMO. I think it is great many here attempt a lot of the restoration on their own but as far as the wood, just bite the bullet and spend the money with the professionals to avoid a half *** job that will never look that good...
