This is the route I would personally go. Bluetooth hideaway amps, speakers etc with a convenient interface from whichever Brand you prefer.

Glyn, it seems to me the two Thumb Knobs should go over the moquette fabric and be seen, just like the two center panel thumb knobs.

orherwise how is anyone else going to know they are there UNDER the fabric? I sure didn't.It is not obvious without a service manual, and even with a manual, I missed them.

even if that is not how they came, I am going to do it like that, with two chromed knurled thumb knobs on each side of the chromed shelf grill. I bet it will look very nice, the finishing touch.

Over the carpet on most cars. Very few had Moquette on the parcel shelf other than the little rail cover. Always been lots of hidden things on vehicles if you did not have the Workshop manual. You are seldom going to use them. I don't want to look at them.

Jose,

Thanks again for the useful help. In return, on my car the thumb screws were underneath the fabric. The fabric was not glued down in the area immediately over the thumb screws, so they were “available “ but not on show. I hope this helps.

Richard

Yes ~ Correct, The carpet is loose on either side of the chrome radio vent & is held down by the vent & the 4 nylon studs.
