As a follow up to my previous thread on power steering boxes, I can confirm that the Adwest box for the MkX does not fit the 340,the mounting points differ, however the Internal components are Identical so the steering is now back to something like normal. Thanks to everyone that took the trouble to reply.

These things are difficult as so many people are no longer around who know the answer. It does figure that the internals are the same as these cost a lot to design and make. The Marles Varamatic was not in production all that long, as power racks came in quite quickly on Jaguars made by the same firm, Adwest. Their workers were always on strike in the 70s as I remember, thus considerably upsetting Jaguar production plans.
