Default Audio Power Amplifier

This pertains to my 2005 Sportwagon/Estate. I have the factory system with Alpine speakers (2 per passenger door, total of 8) and a subwoofer in the right rear corner and the power amp in the left rear corner. It appears that the power amp has a failure - likely output transistors.
Easy to see the amp which appears to be enclosed inside a surrounding metal bracket. The bracket is held in by 4 easy to access bolts but also by 2 small torx screws into the plastic interior panel above the panel opening with no good access to those screw heads. There are 6 small Phillips screws through the metal bracket face into bottom (?-the amp face with the paper labels) of the amplifier. Will removing those 6 Phillips screws allow the amp to drop out of the bracket or is it necessary to take apart the interior panels and remove the small bracket screws to remove and replace the amp?
