Default Auto trans leak mystery

Hi all.
My car has a S1 XJ6 box (BW Model 12) - Trans oil is dripping down from the rear gearbox mount. I have cleaned everythng immaculately and the oil is definitely coming straight down (not flowing from anywhere else.
Does anyone have a cross-section of the rear gearbox mount (ie how the bolt fits into the gearbox?).
Cheers,
Michael

Michael, This may not apply to your gearbox, but it's my experience with the GM 400 box on my Daimler. The sump is a sheet steel pressing and there's a rubber gasket between it and the body of the box. Any damage to the sump pressing and the face that should seal is no longer flat enough resulting in a leak. And you can't tighten the nuts to stop the leak. In fact, it's one of those seals where you turn the nuts until you feel a little resistance and then stop. Any more and the gasket is distorted and leaks.

Apart from that, it might be worth asking for advice on the XJ6 section.

Might not be the case but I know that Auto gearboxes store quite a lot of oil in the torque converter. If the car is left for sometime without being run the oil runs out of the torque converter back into the gear box. As the gear box level is checked with a running engine this extra oil that was in the torque converter now puts the oil level higher than it should be on a regularly used car and it can leak out of the speedo drive.
