Post X-type gearbox failure warning

I saw some oil on ground while parked uphill. Afterwards while driving when I gave the car gas, the engine speed increased but car didnt speed up like it should have, took a while, then gearbox failure showed up on dash. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like your trans is toast. Find out where the leak is coming from.

Default X-Type gearbox failure

Looks like the leak is coming from the rear seal. Yeah and when I turned the car off I smelled a little burning. Unfortunately i think u r right about the tranny. You know a good trans guy in Long Island, suffolk county? Thanks, Jeff
