Baby Steps
5 times around my beautiful body, Go!
Nice to meet a fellow British Vet.
it fits but only just.
Check the radiator cap pressure.
I fitted one of these alloy radiators and did not realise the cap supplied was 1.2 atmospheres or roughly 17 PSI.
I ended up popping a welch plug due to excessive system pressure build up.
These early Jag systems are set to run at low pressures like 5 to 7 PSI Maximum.
These early welch plugs won't tolerate the very high pressures typically found in modern vehicles.
By the way a couple of old bath towels on the mudguards (or fenders) protects the paint and stops tools and assorted bits sliding off.
Cheers

Cap is marked as 17 psi, I’ll search for a lower pressure cap then.. thanks
paint on the fenders is cracking and there’s a ton of small dents… least of my issues atm as will need a full strip and repaint.
Baby steps :-)
