Default I'm delighted

The Chief Concours Judge of South Africa has just valued my car for insurance.

He rates it as the best S Type in the country.

He rated the car at 100 points Plus.

I'm smiling from ear to ear & delighted.

Now I will have it in writing to frame that I got there. This is no trailer queen & I can now drive it & enjoy it.

As does your Mk2 Prof. Gregory! I have made a lot of corrections since pics in this thread.

Congratulations on achieving that score.
This thread has gone on for a few days short of 4 years and your application to achieve this outcome is inspirational.
Well done!

Thank you. I have put my yellow plastic one in the toolkit. SA CKD cars were strange in that other than providing a proper if large hydraulic jack in a black leather cover for our conditions. They also left the Mk2 jack adjuster in the toolkits. The spare wheel cover was laminated plywood. As I restored to UK spec I replaced it with a steel one. None of the old SA parts are available any longer right down to roof lining & upholstery materials. All this down to our local content program which in Phase 2 was 54% by weight. Lyons did a deal with government that aged blank heads & blocks were sent to SA. We did all the machining here on the latest state of the art equipment for the time & assembled the engines here. (Equipment paid for by the SA taxpayer). Our engines were more accurate than those from Browns Lane that were using ancient equipment, some of which came from the old Daimler purchase.

With Covid hopefully behind us. Gift to my man that did most of the grunt work on my S Type. Most engravers went under but green shoots are appearing.

Full 7" leaper in 18 carat gold plate. Has taken pride of place in his trophy cabinet.

Strip lighting makes it look as if it has a displaced spine ~ LOL.

Hi Glyn,

I assume PM stands for personal mail? I'm new to the forum so am still finding my feet.

Thanks.

Example of Refinished, Re-chromed & Re-riveted armrest mechanisms. You don't have to tolerate your old rusted items. Just requires a little innovation with the rivets so they don't scratch the leather surface as some originals did. Lower mechanism & rear not seen. It is within the seat. While we restored everything we had A & B finished parts where they are unseen like the inner door sealing from the door cards.

Fully restored, plated, greased, rustproofed with Tectyl & painted but B look,

A look & finish.

Default Miracle of all Miracles ~ original Wilmot Breeden Keys found.

I'm renovating our house at present & having a large throw out. The Doctor that I bought the car from that had owned it from new gave me the genuine Wilmot Breeden (UNION) keys that the car was delivered with and some spare locally cut keys that I have been using copies of.

The originals have been missing (misplaced) for well over 30 years.

Today while cleaning out a cupboard I found them. The Key that has shed most of its chrome has a little more still on the other side & says/has the Union word on it ~ both say Made in England on them as does the Jaguar Coventry Key Fob Disc.

I'm delighted to have found them at last.

With & without flash.

Sorry I suffer from tremor as both my parents did (thankfully not Parkinson's) ~ this is the best I can do with a Monopod.

Well that just tops thing off nicely, doesn't it! A little reward for all the attention given to it.

Just gone through the whole thread. As I said before, stunning. You have an eye for detail which goes far beyond what most people would try to achieve. Hats off to you.
