If you look at the pic further back in this thread you can see the welded arch. Here is a photo during the bodywork phase. By the time you have welded the tube on all the way round, it just needs some filler and finessing to get the final shape.
Fantastic, I'll be trying to replicate that when I tackle the bodywork. Much prefer the partial spat over both the full or removed spats, especially if you also fill the gap to make it seamless. Good work!
Hi I used a front repair panel and used it on the back
I like the look of this, Nice job, I have another Mk2 that is going through a 2 door conversion, but different. Now that the other car is running I hope to get back to that project.
Looking very nice. There is a guy on YouTube who is/has made a Mk2 Wide bodied coupe. It starts here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s85PHrjVeFg and there are several video post of what he has done. Lots of ideas to steal/borrow/copy.
I have been watching this guys posts for years. He does very impressive work, but now that he has it painted, I can't say I like the look of the car much. I do look forward to seeing it trimmed out and on the road. Hopefully the details will bring it all together.

Thanks for the interest. Because I am doing something unique, I don't want to post pics until I am happy with what I have done. I also don't want to start getting myself all excited about it if I don't have the time to spend on it. I also have a 1948 Diamond T truck that is half finished. Too many projects. Something I plan to fix this year.
