I looks like XJ6 Series 3 to me but i'm by no means an expert, I think the earlier series 1 and 2 racks have a taller 'tower' where the input spline is. The later XJ40 has a different mounting arrangement.

If you replace it you might find that the tie rods have been cut down on the old rack as part of the conversion (mine was about 10mm per side if I remember correctly), if your having it rebuilt it might be worth mentioning it to the rebuilder to make sure you get the same rack back.

I agree with Homer. Certainly, the mounting arrangement is series XJ. It looks like a tall tower which would make it XJ6 rather than XJS or XJ12. Still, Jaguar used different rack suppliers over the years such as Adwest and ZF.

Often there is small metal tag on the underside that should give a part number. Here is an example from an XJS. Yours does look like a tall tower rack from an XJ6.
