The governing criteria are always: condition, history (especially history), mileage, authenticity and specific model. The Mk 2 is the most sought-after classic sedan but there are other factors; is there rust? what is the condition of the wood and leather? which transmission does it have? has there been accident damage? what needs attention? Has there been any restoration work? Your questions are difficult to answer in any detail because you have given no details about the car in question.

There are lots of factors which enter into the pricing of vintage/classic cars. One place to start is scan the internet for listings/offerings and completed sales of similar vehicles (hopefully ones with good and honest narrative descriptions and extensive photos). Another critical factor is an honest assessment of the actual condition of your vehicle...no "rose colored glasses" allowed. Is your car an east coast car? If so, are there rust issues? A rust free California car will likely sell for more...

There are classic car value guides out there, but the indicated values tend to be in wide ranges, which goes back to condition and other factors. An example of other factors includes things like "is your car a RHD version in a LHD market...?" If so, a discount may be required to effect a sale.

You can post photos and your car's details here to see what other members think, but nobody can lay hands on a computer screen and come up with an accurate sales price for your car.

There are a number of car magazines that give an idea of current market prices. In the UK, one that I see occasionally is that from "Practical Classics" www..practicalclassics.co.uk. Clearly this relates to the UK prices.
