I prefer the way the original compressor was designed. They chose a two belt design. I have the double crank pulley and an old bracket that may or may not work.

If anyone has the original MK2 or 3.8S A/C compressor mounting brackets and hardware including the double crank pulley I am interested.

It will require some modifications as I am using a Sanden rotary compressor.

Thank you.

I have one, complete with the compressor and hoses, from a 1964 RHD MK-2 imported to the USA from AU. (I assume the compressor does not work). I purchased the entire a/c system to use in my S type but never did it.

the only problem is I cannot get to it because I am in another state. It will be a month or so before I can get to it.

there is a seller on ebay offering a modern compressor bracket for $400.00

Default compressor

Jose
Thank you.

I do not need the compressor as I wanted the old mounting parts to aid me in designing a new set of mounting brackets for a modern Sanden compressor.

I have the compressor and steel for fabricating the parts. I thought it would be much easier if I could get a few of the original brackets.

I will check e-bay for what is being offered. I assume it is for a MK2 or 3.8S.

Default bracket

I was unable to locate a listing on e-bay for the bracket in question. Could you provide a link?

Default e-bay

Thank you. Jose

Those parts are reproductions being sold by James Dean in Florida. Designed to use a small GEO metro compressor. Some small parts in common with a MK2 installation.

If interested follow the link above to the JCNA Judges Guide Air Conditioning. At the end of this publication are photos of an XK150 with original period A/C installed.

Thank you for that e-bay link. A single part also came up with that search and I purchased it. It is the chrome plated "crossover" plate that traverses the left valve cover. Apparently NOS and plated as original. I should be able to use it even though I am installing a Sanden rotary compressor.

Again, thank you.

Default bracket 3.8S

I could use tracings and dimensions of the small parts.

The plate that bolts to the head and has two "standoffs" attached. The outside shape and the positions of the holes as well as the length and tread size and design of the "spacer" posts.

Also the length and I.D. and O.D. of the three standoffs that secure the idler-tensioner to the front of the block.

Do you have the small bracket that attaches to the exhaust manifold studs? It secured a "Z" bracket used to stabilize the compressor. Actually I believe it was used to damp vibrations.

If you can do this I could provide a mailing address unless you could send a file that I could print in actual size.

I posted the a/c parts that I have from a 1964 MK-2 brought to USA from Hong Kong. (RHD car).

check the Member's Marketplace page. (Classifieds).

the brackets are massive, the YORK compressor has the double-V pulley, there are two separate brackets or "supports", as well as a Condenser that was mounted behind the grille. I do not know if these are factory brackets.

Default compressor bracket

I have purchased an original after market bracket originally used on a MK2.

It fits and with the addition of a readily available york to sanden mounting bracket all fits fine.
