Default Moss 4 Speed issues

I recently purchased a 3.4 engine with a Moss 4 speed with overdrive.
I checked the transmission today and it would not shift into any gears. After removing the top cover it turns out it has all new gears, shift forks and bearings, possibly new synchronizers too. With the transmission in neutral the output shaft is still engaged. It appears the person that assembled it has installed the internals incorrectly. Does anyone know where I could get an exploded view of the transmission or any assembly information?

For Moss Box see page F.4 onward ~ No synchromesh on First Gear.

Off the top of my head, I don't. But being a pre-war design, it's almost certainly a British thread, either Whitworth or British Parallel Pipe.

I'm looking for the front driveshaft assembly, the 4-bolt flange and u-joint that bolt to the Moss 4 speed
The first 2 images are from a MKII with an automatic driveshaft.
If anyone knows where I may find one please let me know.

Will a MKII driveshaft from an automatic bolt to a Moss 4 speed output shaft?

That flange has been a Jaguar standard for years. Many Jaguars use the same flange, up to the XJ6 ending in 1987. Basically everything older than that (and XJS up to 1996) will have the same flange.
You can buy one similar from Dana: https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p19..._rear_dif.html

The Mark 2 drivehsaft will bolt up, might not be the right length.

This manual is exactly what I needed. I am new to Jaguars, and this will defiantly be an important part of my education.

Thanks Jay

I have two engines, a 1959 3.8 and 4.2 from the 1970's. One of these engines will be going in a 1930's style race car that I designed and fabricated. The 3.8 is from rusted out MKI, and the 4.2 was from a wrecked XJ6.

Pay careful attention to getting all the washers, sleeves and rings (and anything that could be the wrong way around) in the right place, in the right order, and the right way around. If they aren't, the gears will not shift.

An aspect that's not so well covered in the manual is the the top cover and the striker rods. However, it's unlikely that anyone has rebuilt them. Either way. if you look at the bits you can see and an exploded diagram long enough, it should become clear ... .

There is a 1987 XJ6 at a local salvage. I realize this car has a different engine and transmission, but does use a 4 bolt flange on the drive shaft. Any chance the drive shave flange will fit an earlier XJ6?
