Default New member query : is it safe to download the Mark1 service and parts manuals

Hello to all Forum members from a newbie!! I have recently found the Forum. The Sticky section at the top of this Forum section contains Service and Parts Manuals for the Jaguar Mark 1, which I would dearly love to have as I have recently acquired a Mark 1. Are these safe to download without introducing a virus into my laptop ? Anyone had any experience either good or bad with these downloads ? Hey... thank you all for being involved with these neat, older classic cars. Can't wait to get mine in road worthy condition.

I just did it now and seems fine, but who knows right ?
They are compressed into a ZIP file, so I find that annoying, trying to find a free version to get into it, they all want money.

Absolutely if you are running decent anti virus software on your computer like Norton, Kaspersky etc.

Unzip it and save another copy in Unzipped form if unzipping bugs you..

Down load ~ Double click on the zipped file & your computer will unzip it for you. All the more recent Windows products contain inbuilt/programmed unzipping.

Zipping is done to save drive space.

Should you wish an original issue the Coventry Foundation has one in its store #1 on E bay. Remember that manual was issued in many sub parts and we have seen only one bound complete copy, but many part issues. It seems that they could be ordered that way when the cars were new. THis practice was only used for this model.

you can also download the MK-1 factory service manual free from my website, no virus. OR you can VIEW IT ONLINE without downloading the .pdf file.

https://classicstypeparts.webstarts.com

OR you can download the file but don't open it yet, just right-click on the file and select SCAN FOR VIRUS using your virus scanner.
