release bearing height for 340?
Hi All,
Have several different release bearings for my basket case '68 340, they are of 2 different heights (measured with carbon surface flat on table to top of pivot pin). The taller of the 2 causes free play in clutch fork to go to zero (tight) as the trans is snugged up to the block. The shorter one leaves 1/2" of free play when mated. I'm thinking 1/2" is too much. If someone has the proper bearing for this application in hand, could you measure the height I've described?
Thanks,
Seann

Hi Seann
I have just joined the forum, I have a 340 in bits which had a new clutch fitted not long before it was taken off the road in 2000, I can measure the bearing for you if this isnt too late.
