Default Restoration af a MK2 3.8 1960

Hello everybody

I am at the restauration of my Jag MK2. I started the restauration on february 2012 and make a dokumentation of everything on my blog.

Unfortunately, the blog is written in german. But, if you are interested, you can use the Google Translator. You can open the blog in german by visiting www.jaguar-mk2.ch or with the Google translator by Google Translator

If you like, I can inform you here, in this thread, about the next steps.

Best Regards,
Oliver

Oliver,

( I edited 'restoration' in your thread title so it appears in forum searches )

Very impressive work on the window mechanisms and the instruments look better than new.

Looking forward to viewing the next steps.

Graham

in Spanish the words are:

" restaurar " (to restore),
" restauración " (restoration),
" estoy restaurándo " (I am restoring),
" restauré " (I restored),
" restauró " (he/she restored)
" restauráron " (they restored)
" restauraré " (I will restore)

Default Restoration af a MK2 3.8 1960

Hello Oliver,
Thank you for sharing your restoration progress. We are near the same point in our restorations. My own is a 1964. I enjoyed reading your blog and looking at your photos. Having just completed stripping all of the undercoating from my car I have shared your frustration with that part of the work. But now we have that unpleasant task behind us!

I look forward to keeping up with your efforts. It may be helpful for us to compare notes from time to time. If you are interested, you can track my work at my web site: Valve Chatter

I really like your rotisserie! I have a car lift in my garage that has proven to be very useful, but I would love to have a rotisserie as well. However, that would take the other spot in our garage and I don't think my wife wants her BMW 535 outdoors in the cold :-).

Cheers,

Lin

Hello Lin

As I can see, you have great experi restorating cars. You have a wonderful page with a lot of good pictures. I guess the one picture I need that is not under the 1 billion pics I made, you have.

The roll over jig is really a good thing. But if the axles and the engine is mounted, I can't use the jig anymore. But until this happens.....

Regards,
Oliver

Default Restoration of a MK2 3.8 1960

Oliver,
I will leave this week's progress on our cars to you. My wife and I are leaving the cold and heading to sunny and warm south Florida tomorrow for a week. Then I will come back tanned and ready to try to catch up with you! :-)

Oliver,

The body panels around the grille aperture look a very difficult job to get right.

It's fascinating to follow your progress. Keep the posts and pics coming.
