Default Steering Wheel Diameter?

Looking to replace my stock wheel with possibly the Moto-Lita wheel from SNG Barratt. They offer 3 sizes - 13", 14", 15". The stock wheel is a bit under 17" and just looks to big in the car.

What size to get? Kind of leaning towards the 15" as it's the closest to stock?

15" is what I'm replacing mine with also. I think you should get what suits you personally though. If I didn't have Power Steering I'd have kept the 17" wheel

I have power steering and think 15" would be the best.

anything smaller than 15" will be impossible to park.

the ideal size is 15½" diameter but nobody seems to make that size.

I have a 15" Momo in my XJ-6 and a 15" Tourist Trophy in my S type.

I also wanted to get rid of the school bus-sized 17" steering wheels in both cars.

in the 1990's there was a Canadian Union Workers factory who were making beautiful 15½" steering wheels in wood or leather but they dissapeared before I could order one.

I would think 15 is best, wouldn't want to go any smaller, it would make the steering to "quick".

JeffR1,

do you by any chance recall that company in the 1990's in Canada? They were named something like "Union Wood Workers", and they had a web page showing their steering wheels. I just can't accept they closed their doors.

Sorry, no, I don't think I even had my Jag back then.

I agree. I have the 15" and if you look at it I could see a 14" working but these are more cruisers so the smaller diameter wheels for sports cars are not needed and 13" would be way to tiny for this type of car. I do have power steering so it turns very easy; as others mentioned if you do not have power steering a 14" might not be easy to steer but with power steering it really is personal preference. The stock steering wheel looks crazy big.
