Just completed surgery on the clock. Used the Clocks4Classics kit to replace the points with a PCB but the rest of the clock stays original (so the proper tick). Has been running for 15 minutes now so fingers crossed.
They have had too many bad experiences with oversea’s shipping that they no longer do it outside the US. So I had to do it myself. Another one of those little jobs that does give a lot of satisfaction.
I have everything out. Had to repair the horn which meant taking out the steering column and I am replacing all the wood trim however taking out the rev counter is not too bad. You have to remove the cover under the dash and reach up and undo 2 thumb nuts holding the rev counter in place. Then you can take out the rev count from the front of the dash and remove the wiring (only a couple of connectors and the illumination). Once the rev counter is out the clock is very easy to remove.
