Vacuum tank check valve
I've just cleaned and painted the small vacuum tank under the left side fenderwell. The check valve for the vacuum doesn't seal in either direction. Anybody have a nice replacement for these valves?
I can easily envision a replacement from the modern supplies but I'm asking if there's something more elegant...

I'm not sure what you mean by elegant, but this is what's supplied by SNG Barratt.
SNG Barratt - The Ultimate Jaguar Parts Specialist
Mine is just a plastic one and is some sort of after market thing and I just recently discovered it was never connected, nor was the vacuum tank.

Let me explain the "elegant" part of the query. The actual valve as supplied by Jaguar is the epitomy of engineering elegance. Just what I would want, it is small, robust and reliable. When mine appeared faulty I cast about on the net and came up with monstrosities as replacements. Check valves, hoses and tees to do the same simple job as the proper Jaguar bit.
Now, after a thorough flushing and drying overnight I find my original valve working again and it will go back in.

you can use one from the Series 3 XJ-6, (1980-1987) which uses the same check valve and is located and attached on the charcoal canister, front passenger side fenderwell, behind headlight assembly.
