Trying to figure out which way the weatherstrip goes in the door channels on my S Type. Most of the weather stripping was not original to the car and what little original that was left at the front of the doors and had not been replaced was so hard and misshapen that I could not tell which way it went in. My question is this, does the high side go inward towards the opening or go to the outside?

in my S type the tall side goes up and towards the interior, the low side rests on the sheetmetal.
Almost like a "J".
