Default Wiper upgrade

I want to upgrade my wiper system, original system not up to modern road requirements.
Those advertised seem a bit costly. Is it possible to make improvements by fitting something from a later model?
Has anybody made mods if so what and who etc
Looking for some feed back
Barry

I have seen this kit but have not decided to purchase it for my car.
Wiper Kit - CLASSIC MOTOR CARS

I did replace my wiper arms and blades and that made a big improvement as the old wiper arms prevented them from stopping all the way to the base of the glass.

Getting the wheel boxes as a separate entity would be nice with out having to buy the other stuff.
The wheel boxes are the part that wears out.

I have already replaced the wheel boxes, arms and blades.Available through usuall UK outlets. The CMC kit seems a bit costly to me.
I was hoping that perhaps a motor from say a later vehicle would fit. I have found that europera motor parts( Race /kit car) supplies a kit and parts seperate (2speed)motor 14watt £50. I dont know how this equates to the Lucas fr3 .
Any comments any body(lucas draws about 3 amp max

Hot Rodders in the USA use a domestic system which they install in their rods. Mounting is very similar to the Jaguar systems. Search for hot rodding parts suppliers.

the complaint most heard from XJ owners is always the lazy wipers. My '65 S type wipers are faster than my '84 XJ wipers. Both are Lucas cable systems, used in many British cars. The modern Pantograph system does not fit.
