Today was the first event in the King Street series at Bandimere. In spite of the fact I haven't been consistently within the qualifying time of 12.75, I decided to sign up to the series. I lost out in the first round to an octogenarian who had been driving the same car for 20 years, but I can't complain about running my best time ever, 12.332 @ 114.94. I really can't wait for the rest of the season!

We should add a DA portion to the time slip. Rakka and I would both benefit greatly .
My best run:
13.746 @ 101.4 on street tires with a DA of 6836. 2003 STR https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...maro-ss-94812/

Went 13.61 @98.4 tonight. I hammered the brakes right before the line for dial time racing purposes and still broke out; probably could've pulled a 13.59 @102. I will have video and time slip up tomorrow.

Well, a lot of issues and a crappy track but I managed a 14.4 @ 100 (2.3 60') today
Figuring out the best way to launch this thing was basically what i was doing the entire time.. Then if i let the car cool down the tranny does not want to shift into 2nd until 5 minutes of driving or so...
Best time was achieved in sport with traction off and spinning the 20's until they actually caught.
I know it has atleast a 13.9 in it at that MPH... ill have to get the blue tops and tranny fluid swapped out.. as well as clean up that plug on the tranny. Hope that helps my issue.
Other than that the peg leg diff has me worried if I add more power with my wheel/brake set up... guess the project never ends.

LSD is the way to go mate. It aint cheap, but the benefits on the street (not just the track) made it worth every penny in my eyes.
You mph is a little down compared to the X308's running in the UK, what's the altitude at your track?
EDIT
Steve I put my run up on dragtimes.com as well 2005 Jaguar XJR X350: 13.254 @ 105.440 MPH

I was able to pull 2.004 and 2.005 60's last time with all-season street tires on the stock open diff. I would recommend airing your back tires (at least the LR for us not running an LSD) down to 20-25 psi and see if you can hook better. Even when I spin and can't hook well I'm still pulling 2.15-2.2 60's. Make sure you do a tranny or ECU reset and then drive it hard so it adapts to harsher driving.

1999 XJR today: 12.806 /102.30mph, tires DRs. We were not able to find reason for big engine rev problems even almost everything possible tested or changed last days. Just new coils were missed since there was shipping delay from UK seller. Spark plugs were changed by a helpful Corvette tech at the airfield just before the competition - but no help .
I was very happy with 60ft 1.964 on slippery airfield track, but since car did not accelerate normally from 2nd gear up and reached like rev/speed limiter after 1/8mile, end speed was very low vs expected 117-120mph..
When the primary problem will be resolved and go to the real drag racing strip, my own target 11.99 is close. 60ft should be then near 1.80.
Today, because of very limited traction, I did not remove spare wheel, there was 1/2tank of fuel and normal sized battery. This made ~140lb extra weight to the rear part of the car.

you can see that the cat almost lifts the front wheels up to the air..

Weather was great and traction of old airfield's surface was unexpected good. Car runs great first 330ft, well up to 660ft and poorly second half of the run. That's why end speeds were all under 110mph. Should be 116-118mph. Many things were tested/changed during the day. Thanks for super helpful owners of other brand cars. They wanted to help me going under 12sec, but this time it was not possible. Attached details of all six runs. The first run was the best one. Tires: Drag radials.
